Living in Pure Light means roots included
There is a reason
There is a reason so many beautiful beings do not fully embody their gifts.
Not because the gifts are not there.
Not because they are not ready.
Not because they are “doing it wrong.”
But because somewhere deep in the body, the heart, the roots of the soul, there is a memory.
A memory that says:
When I opened, I was hurt.
When I gave, I was betrayed.
When I offered something beautiful, it was misunderstood.
When I let my light move, people projected onto me, took from me, judged me, rejected me or turned against me.
And so the system learns.
It learns to hold back.
To stay hidden.
To be careful.
To question the gift itself.
To question whether it is worth it.
To wonder if being fully ourselves will once again cost us belonging, safety, recognition or peace.
Where embodiment becomes difficult
This is one of the deeper reasons embodiment can feel so complex.
Because often, what is in the way is not a lack of purpose, but an old association between gift and pain.
Between visibility and punishment.
Between openness and violation.
Between serving and being left alone with the consequences.
And this lives in us far deeper than the mind. It can live in the roots.
What the roots remember
Recently, in a session, I met a very ancient layer of this within myself.
A part that carried deep sadness, anger, bitterness and heartbreak.
A part that had known what it was like to care deeply and be paid back with darkness.
A part that had been so open, so welcoming, so willing to help that others thought they could simply give her anything. Their pain. Their projections. Their confusion. Their disrespect.
And the shock of that had gone deep.
So deep that the roots themselves appeared wounded.
Rotten.
Deadened.
As if something essential had been harmed.
But what revealed itself so clearly was this:
The roots were never the problem
The openness was never the problem.
The gift was never the problem.
The heart was never the problem.
What hurt was what happened around the gift.
What hurt was what others did with what they could not understand.
What hurt was the way something pure was mishandled, misjudged or turned against itself.
And this is where so much healing begins.
Not by forcing ourselves to “shine brighter.”
Not by bypassing the fear.
Not by pushing ourselves into visibility before the roots feel safe.
By going down
By listening.
By witnessing what the roots remember.
By meeting the part that says:
“I don’t know if this is safe.”
“I don’t know if I want to go there again.”
“I don’t know if I can survive being misunderstood one more time.”
“I don’t know if I can bear everyone turning against me again.”
This is sacred work.
Because when we truly meet these parts with love, something changes.
What begins to return
The roots begin to remember that they are not dirty.
The gifts begin to remember that they were never wrong.
The heart begins to remember that openness is not weakness.
And the self begins to remember:
I can be rooted and radiant.
I can be open and protected.
I can be powerful and safe.
I can bring my gifts without abandoning myself.
Pure light reaches down too
This, to me, is part of what it really means to live in pure light.
Not light that floats above life.
Not light that ignores the underworld.
Not light that bypasses pain.
But light that reaches all the way down into the roots.
Light that restores what was shamed.
Light that enters the places where we once decided it was safer to withdraw than to be fully alive.
Because pure light is not only heavenly.
It is earthly too ⚜️
It belongs in the nervous system.
In the lower back.
In the root.
In the places that learned to brace.
In the parts that still wonder if it is worth the risk to be fully here.
The next phase of embodiment
And perhaps that is the next phase of embodiment:
Not only opening upward, but allowing the roots to become golden again.
Golden roots...
Roots that remember their truth.
Roots that are no longer carrying ancient sludge, betrayal, projection or shame.
Roots that know how to receive life.
Roots that can hold the magnitude of what wants to come through.
Roots that do not panic at power, because they are connected to safety.
Roots that no longer say:.... “hide”
But softly begin to whisper,
you can go full now.
I see you.
I’ve got you.
You are safe.
Where it really begins
Maybe this is where embodiment really begins.
Not in becoming someone else.
Not in striving for more light.
But in restoring the relationship between your light and your roots.
So that what lives above can finally trust what lives below.
So that your gifts no longer feel like a danger to your own system.
So that your soul no longer has to choose between truth and safety.
So that the magic that has always been there can rise naturally, honestly, from the ground of your being.
A deeper question
Living in Pure Light means roots included.
And maybe the question is not:
“What are my gifts?”
Maybe the deeper question is:
What would become possible if the roots of me truly felt safe to hold them?
This is part of why I feel so moved by what is unfolding right now.
